      甄文达是首位成功将中国饮食文化介绍给美国社会的电视人,主持超过一千八百集全球播放的电视烹饪节目。它是闻名中外的大师级大厨,也是享誉极隆的食业顾问、连锁餐厅老板、专业烹饪导师,更是厨艺作家,著作超过二十五本,最新著作有《中国城饮食精华》、《甄文达宴会精华》及《简易中国菜烹饪法》。

      他不断求变求新,为加强观众对亚洲美食烹饪调的认识,环游亚洲各国,广事搜罗当地饮食精华及精彩的文化广作介绍,他的出以及丰富饮食经验,更赢取厨艺界的赏识,成为极受欢迎学院的客座教授,分别获庄逊及威尔斯大学、加州烹饪学院邀请成为校内的顾问委员,并被香港烹饪学院礼聘为培训董事。此外,他还出任美洲厨艺学院、三藩市大学及北美华厨训练计划顾问和客座讲师等。

      1985年,在三藩市湾区创办甄文达国际烹饪学院,传手及推广中国厨艺,2002年,他更进一步在加州开设“甄厅”,专门提供亚洲美食,且计划进军全球。

      锐意专研厨艺,备受国际认可及推崇。在2001年,获得詹姆斯士比尔德基金列入食物及酒类名人榜,这是向饮食界行业内专业人士成就致敬的极高荣誉。此外i,还获得其他奖项无数,包括1998年电视艾美日间节目奖、1996年的詹姆斯士比尔德最佳美食电视新闻奖、1994年詹姆斯士比尔德最佳电视烹饪奖及领袖奖颁发等杰出厨师奖。

      他又与世界名厨Paul Prudhomme两人一起获美国厨师联合总会提名为第一任烹饪大使,又与美国首位女厨师Julia Child获世界著名的约翰威尔斯大学颁发荣誉美食博士学位,在1999年,他又获科罗拉多的厨艺学院颁发名誉博士学位。

      He seeks for changes and innovations uninterruptedly.in order to make the audice understand Asian delicacies more,he has made a trip around the Asian countries and collected the F&B souls and splendid cultures for introduction.Relying on super cooking skills and abundant experiences, he has obtained appreciation from the cuisine field,and become popular guest-instructor of Johnson&Wales University ;and the California Culinary academy invited him as the Consultant Commissioner ,also he has taught at the Chinese Cuisine instituse in HK ,the Culinary institute of American ,the Universityof San Francisco to initiate and Chinese chef training programs across North America ,in 1985,he founded the Yan Can international Cooking School in bay District of San Francisco to initiate and promote Chinese cuisine.in 2002,he opened Yan Can Restaurant in California to offer Asian delicacies specially ,and plan to expand his business around the world.

      Internationally recogniaed as a master Chef among his peers ,in 2001 Yan was inducted in the James Beard Foundation’s D’Artagnan Cervena Who’s who of Food and Beverage .TV credits include a 1998 Daytime Emmy Award ,a 1996 TV Food Journalism and a 1994 james Beard Award for Best TB Cooking Show.

      He has named Trustee of Copia and Culinary Diplomat for the America Culinary Federation (with fellow chef Paul Prudomme ),and received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Culinary Arts , (along with America First Lady of cooking,Julia Child),from the world’s culinary training mecca,johnson&Wales university.in 1999.the Colorado institute of Art conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters upon him.
